Before you convert

  • These tools work best when you can select and copy text in the PDF viewer.
  • Scanned PDFs contain page images, so editable formats may need OCR first.
  • Review names, figures, page breaks, tables and formatting before relying on the output.
  • The current browser tools accept PDFs up to 50 MiB and 50 pages.

Normal page requests and anonymous website analytics still occur when you visit the site. The selected PDF is not uploaded for processing by these tools.

PDF conversion questions

Can I convert a PDF without uploading it?

Yes. These tools read the selected PDF in your browser and create the result locally. No account or email is required.

Why is my converted file empty?

The PDF may be a scan or image-only document. Use OCR first to add a searchable text layer, then try a text-based converter again.

Will the original layout be preserved?

Not reliably. Word and Excel-compatible outputs focus on extracting text. Complex columns, tables, forms, images, fonts and exact formatting may need manual correction.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Encrypted or damaged PDFs may not open in the browser tools. Use a file you are authorised to process and remove protection with your PDF software when appropriate.
