Can I compress a PDF without uploading it?
Yes. This tool reads one selected PDF in your browser. The file is not sent to Firm Beacon or saved by the tool. Loading this page still makes normal website and analytics requests. Analytics can record a compression action, but not your file, filename or document contents.
Will this always make my PDF smaller?
No. The result may be smaller, similar in size or larger. Compare the two sizes before downloading and keep the original file.
Why is the compressed PDF larger?
A PDF can already be optimized, or its embedded images and objects may not be reduced by this browser-local save. The output can also use a different internal structure.
Are PDF signatures and form fields preserved?
Do not assume that signatures, interactive form fields, bookmarks or appearance will be preserved. Keep the original and review the output before using it.
